My name is Brandon McConnell. I was born in Chula Vista, Ca. on June 1st, 1976. I have been an artist for as long as I can remember. In elementary school I would Doodle at my desk every chance I got. As I got into High school, I sarted drawing comic book characters and was really surprised with what I could do with no special training. I won first place in an art contest In High School for one of my Ink and airbrush drawings. Then in 1999 I took a day trip to Tijuana Mexico, there I saw an artist on the sidewalk making beautiful paintings with spray paint. I was instantly amazed by the vibrant colors, interesting textures and speed at which he could create a painting. I knew this was something I had to try for myself. That day I bought four paintings by the artist and carefully studied his techniques for about an hour. A day later I had a bunch of cans of spray paint and the materials I needed and eagerly went to work trying to understand these new concepts of spray paint art. It was like nothing I had ever done. My first results were very muddy looking and not very good. With practice and determination I started to understand what needed to be done to get the results I wanted. In 2003 I started my website spacepaintings.com. There I began to sell my paintings, Instructional DVDs, and created a community of spray paint artists like myself. To date my website has gotten over 480,000 Unique visitors and is the largest spray paint art community on the net with hundreds of members.
I have created many video clips of my art for www.youtube.com and www.metacafe.com wich have been viewed Millions of times by people all over the world. This exposure has allowed me to quite my job of 10 years at the San Diego Zoo and create my own business as an artist.(Click on the links above to go to my archive of videos.)
I have appeared in the New York Times, Local Newspapers, and did a live demonstration for a local news station. I've Participated in the Paint the Box program for the city of Imperial Beach paint electrical boxes to beautify the neighborhood and give free live performances for the Boys and Girls club of Imperial Beach once a year. I recently was hired to do a spray paint art performance in Florida at the company picnik for the Kennedy Space Center. It was a huge success, selling over 50 paintings in 6 hours. Spray paint art has opened up a whole new world for me and allows me to express my feelings and imagination. I am constantly learning new things and plan to continue to spray paint for as long as I can.
Munden is a 33 year old family man from the Midwest. I've always been an artist in some form or another... and always on again off again, back and forth. I went to school for Graphic Design years ago and have been heavily practicing Design whenever possible, freelance here and there. But when I saw my first spray paint art video on YouTube I was hooked! And decided to give it a shot and see what I could produce. I admit that I am definitely still learning and have a long way to go before I am as good as Brandon McConnell or Spraycasso or any of the other fellas that I've watched online, but I keep growing as a painter every time I do something new. I've gone from starting at the beginning and learning the basic spacepainting techniques to learning landscapes and everything inbetween... but I need to practice a whole lot more and start mixing concepts to see where I end up.
The Cosmo Kid was born and raised in Wood-Ridge N.J., 10 Miles east of New York City. He is currently 31 years old and he has been on the road since he was 17. His travels have taken him from border to border and coast to coast and he has met many interesting and inspiring people along the way. It was approximately eight years ago that Cosmo met an artist known as Ace. It was Ace who inspired Cosmo to learn how to paint. Ace took Cosmo under his wing and taught him the basics and then sent Cosmo on his way. Since then Cosmo has learned, traded and swapped ideas with over 30 different artists from around the world. He has never attended any art school nor has he taken any art classes. Cosmo's paintings are a representation of his amazing imagination and they seem to grow and change as Cosmo does. Each and every piece is an original and no two pieces are exactly alike. In the past eight years he has painted over 100,000 paintings. In addition to his normal paintings, Cosmo has also painted many special order and custom paintings. His portfolio contains numerous car hoods and tailgates, limousines, monster trucks, mailboxes, computer cases, surfboards, skateboards, snow boards, amusement park rides, room ceilings, walls and even the entire floor of 3 retail stores in Florida. In 2003 Cosmo teamed up with two other artists and together they formed a partnership called Infinity Art. They are currently performing across the country at state fairs and festivals.
TK Designs is what I have called my self for years. My name is Thomas Kittle. Born 1981 in Virginia, I was always on the move. Staying active throughout my childhood seemed to spark my creativity. I was always getting myself in trouble by drawing on the walls. My artistic talent comes from my mother. A very talented women, my mother was always art in my life. Through out my childhood in school I maintained art classes loving every moment. After graduation in 1999, I joined the United States Navy. When my four year tour was complete I went to ITT Technical Institute and received my Associates of Science in Computer Aided Drafting and Design. I first saw Spray Paint Art at a fair in San Diego, CA while serving in the Navy. My personal experience in this art form started with the need to paint my motorcycle. I could not afford to have it painted by a shop but needed it painted bad. So I turned to the internet for helpful tips on painting my bike. What I found was the art of Spray Paint. Mostly, with video on YouTube and Meta Cafe posted by Brandon McConnell I learned the art. Not really finding an instructional on this art form I had to study every move the artist in the videos were making. Being that as it may I learned the art and have been loving every moment of it.
